Signing Einstein was an original music project focused on creating unique compositions with dramatic storylines, complex characters, and shifting moods.
The 10-song debut album received numerous accolades from the press for its outstanding production, songwriting, lyrics, and musicianship.
Best experienced with headphones on, each tune with take the listener on a journey of layered textures, swirling sounds, and thought-provoking topics.
The concept behind "Signing Einstein" was to find the best musicians to record a wide range of original content, and produce it to an extent that required multiple listenings to appreciate all of the nuances.
Bassist/Songwriter Joe Nuccio teamed up with longtime friend, Keyboardist/Producer Vince Varco to develop the songs and organize the project. Joe provided the lyrics and arrangements, while Vince created the keyboard layers and drum parts.
Each musician was given the parameters of the song and encouraged to experiment in order to express their unique artistic gifts.
The expressive vocals of Gina Gonzalez took the recordings to a whole new level, and gave the final product a unique perspective.
Studio ace Dave Uhrich not only supplied all of the stellar guitar work, the album's instrumentation was recorded in his studio.
Jim Godsey was brought in to handle the mixing and final vocal recording. His attention to detail helped to insure all layers were clear and expertly placed in the mix.
Additional inspiration was derived from drummer Randy Harrah's ideas on early project recordings, and also Abdul Hakim's guitar samples on a few songs.
Tony Nuccio handled all of the artwork. Although the meaning behind "Signing Einstein" referred to the task of finding and "signing" musical "Einsteins" to the project, Tony interpreted it as pertaining to sign language, thus the visual references.
This album is a complete package - every note, sound, word, and visual is meant to complement one another.
